Optimization Score and Recommendations

What is optimization score?

Your optimization score is an estimate from Google Ads of how well your Google Ads account is set to perform. The score should ideally be maintained at 100% to ensure that your Ads are frequently displayed. In the "Recommendations" tab, you will find suggested actions to help improve this score.


How does PING work?

PING does not directly read the optimization score on Google Ads account. However, it informs us about recommendations that have appeared on your account (some types are not recognized by the program). Therefore, the score is estimated based on existing recommendations.


  • If there are visible recommendations on your account, it means that the optimization score is not equal to 100%.

  • If PING doesn't recognize any recommendations, you will receive instructions on where to check and read the optimization score.



How to apply or dismiss recommendations?

Recommendations are generated by the Google system automatically, which means they are not always accurate. Here are a few types to consider:

  • Adding missing assets to Campaigns

  • Adding headlines to Ads

  • Adding images/logos to your Ads

  • Set up conversions on the account


To apply a selected recommendation, click on the blue button next to the message.




There are also recommendations that should be approached critically, such as:

  • Removing redundant/non-serving keywords

  • Changing bid type strategy

  • Adding price assets

To dismiss recommendations, click on the three dots next to the displayed message and select "Dismiss all".



Both accepted and dismissed recommendations will contribute to raising the optimization score to 100%.
