Ad type

Ad is a crucial element of every campaign. It is the content that appears to users when they enter a relevant query into a search engine.


Both expanded text and responsive Ads consist of final URL, headlines, and descriptions. Responsive Ads are more elaborate in terms of format and structure. Google automatically selects elements and combines different variations to match the Ad content with the search context.


In the past, only expanded text Ads were in use, but they are no longer supported by Google. They may still appear on your account, but they won't generate any results.



Therefore, it's essential to check whether the old Ad type has been replaced by the new responsive Ad type. Otherwise, the Ad will not generate any impressions or clicks

How does PING work?

PING analyzes all enabled campaigns on your Google Ads account (excluding smart campaigns and dynamic Ads).


If inappropriate Ad types appear on your account, you will be notified and receive guidance on what needs to be changed.


Changing ad type

There is no possibility to change the type of an existing Ad. You need to add it again. To do this, select the appropriate Ad gGroup, go to the "Ads & Assets" tab, and then click on the (+) "Create Ad" button.



Fill in all the fields: final URL, headlines, descriptions, keeping in mind all the restrictions.
