Location Targeting

Locations help you target your ads to people located in, regularly in, or who’ve shown interest in a geographic location. For example, if you're organizing an event in London and your target audience is local to that area, you can promote your event in United Kingdom or smaller region.

Google Ad Grants Policy

According to the Google Ad Grants policy, you cannot target your ads to all countries and territories. Your campaign should not have overly broad location targeting.

Incorrect location targeting is one of the most common reasons for account suspension.

How does PING work?

PING analyzes all enabled campaigns on your Google Ads account excluding smart campaigns.

If your location is set to "all countries and territories":

  • PING: You will receive a notification and immediate improvement suggestions.

  • PING + Assistant:  PING will automatically change the location settings to your home-country and inform you of the campaign where the policy violation occurred.

How to change location settings?

On the left side, there is a navigation bar, select "Settings" → "Campaign settings" and check what locations your ads are targeted at.

If they have incorrect location targeting, click on the selected campaign and change the settings in the "Locations" tab.
